So it appears that Barbarians are real and they live in Bosnia. That got me thinking - are there other real people that exhibit skills more associated with D&D characters than living breathing humans?
A cursory search turned up a guy with Epic ranks in Escape Artist and a Real life Druid. Anyone got any more?

Well, there was that Finnish sniper who killed more Russian soldiers than you would think possible, which sounds like what a D&D Assassin or Flask Rogue should be doing.
At risk of being a smartass, I think the Knight class might have been based on some kind of actual group of real people, some kind of nobility/social order thing who wore armour and led little men around on the battlefield. I can't remember what they were called. Similarly, I think the Samurai class is based on some kind of real-world thing, can't remember what.
(Actually, going to Badass of the week should give you any number of people who would make acceptable D&D characters, typically as Barbarians, Monks or Samurai. Although Wojtek the bear was probably a druid: a bear that is part of a military group, hangs out with the lads, does his share of the work, hauling equipment and all, and is a bear.)
